Why creating time for yourself can help you to thrive | Dr Andrea Haas Confidence Coach & Hypnotherapist

𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒’𝑠 𝑁𝑂 𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑢𝑡𝑦 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑔𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑛…

Imagine going out to your garden and all the weeds have taken over and are strangling your beautiful flowers...all you see are weeds, the flowers are hidden…

This hasn’t happened over night; it’s happened over months and maybe years of neglect.

And when you look more closely, what flowers you do see are wilting, the colours are faded, the leaves brown and dry, being eaten away by small animals…

And that’s your life…

Suddenly you wake up one morning feeling you’re on this never-ending hamster wheel of life. You realise how complicated and busy your life is.

What is the purpose?

You keep going for those who need you. But you feel:

  •  Exhausted

  •  Unhappy

  •  Overwhelmed

  •  Unfulfilled

And life seems to be passing you by...

The first thing you do is drop the things that you enjoy doing, that benefit you emotionally and health wise, hoping this’ll make things better. You basically 𝑝𝑢𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑏𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑟, until things settle down.

But things never settle down, they just get more and more complicated. And now you’re feeling…

  •  Resentful

  •  Impatient, snapping at loved ones

  •  You’re suffering with tiredness, headaches and gut issues.

  •  You may start to have the odd drink

  •  You start to feel as if you’re losing control.

You know this can’t go on, that things need to change, but you have no idea where to start, you haven’t got the energy or the time, and it all seems so difficult….

Why? Because…

  1.  You feel guilty putting time aside for self-care or for yourself.

  2.  You can’t see the weeds from the flowers.

And yet, you know things can’t continue like this, because life is passing you by, and you don’t want to look back with regret.

Self-care is not a luxury, it's a necessity

By doing the weeding….

  •  You do the things that are important to you.

  •  You have more time, feel more fulfilled and feel happier and more energised.

  •  You spend quality time with those who need you.
